AC Delco PF 48 or PF 48 E

I went to Wally World to get a new oil filter, already had the oil.

Is there a difference between the AC Delco PF 48 and PF 48 E. All they had was the PF 48 E.

Thanks.

PF 48 without a doubt. The "e" represents a cheaper version, our wally world doesn't carry the PF 48 e.
Compare the 2 and see the difference especially the filter mounting area. The "good" filter will also have "ZZ" stamped on the filter mounting face.

Autozone should have the PF 48 along with others i can't think of now.

AC Delco has redesigned their oil filters to be more environmentally friendly. Once all of the old style filters are depleted, only the ones ending with an E will be available.

I contacted ADM and Andy said definitely go with the PF48. I found 4 at another Walmart and bought them all. I should be good for a little while.

I won't use a e core filter at any price. After comparing the two filters it was obvious, the e core is a cheap, low quality filter.
Our '02 vette(now sold) used a PF46 filter that i was buying at wally world. When they started selling just the e core type, i started buying the PF46 at Autozone or the dealer.
I would do the same with the PF48.

I just bought a E core at autozone. It goes back tomorrow. Glad I decided to check on the E.

Found some PF 48's at the dealer today and bought a few. There is a definite difference between the 2.

Finally got under my car to change my oil yesterday. I need a bigger oil drain pan. Almost filled it up.

Could be a viable alternative.

A Walmart I went to had 4 pf48 filters in the back of about 6 of pf48e filters. I bought all 4 so that should last me for awhile.
