60 - 75 HP?

I have a CAI on order. LT headers are next along with a tune. What size cam would I need (although I'm a bit hesitant on a cam right now with all the problems people seem to be having with aftermarket cams)? I would like a little bit of lope at idle. I don't know how bad the low rpm bucking/surging on something like the Night Fury cam would be but I am thinking perhaps something in between the likes of the NF cam and stock would be about right. I want to pick up 60-75. Thoughts?

I ran the lpe gt1 cam, it is very mild and it made 444/424. With amazing driveability. You can even use stock springs and pushrods. Making it very cheap to cam. It sounded great too. Might want to check it out. I had under 450 bucks for the cam swap doing it myself plus tune

I ran the gt11 on my l99. With supporting mods it put down 443rwhp. I'm now running a gt9 on my new engine. The gt11 was nice, subtle, drive like stock.

If you have a automatic, you need to do the ls3 conversion imo

Like many people will tell you around here, go with a custom spec cam.

I had similar goals to you, I wanted a nice stage 2 cam idle with excellent street manners but I just wanted great torque and wasn't concerned with chasing a HP number.

I went with a Pat G custom cam ground on cam motion lobes.

Cam is a 226/232 112+4, which is much smaller than a Night Fury(236/242 I think, but don't quote me). My cam put down 476/446 on a hot humid Houston day, which really surprised me and it drives almost like stock with a mean idle chop.

For some comparison I dyno'd 417/410 with long tubes, intake, and a tune.

Good luckin your choice man.

i did a custom grind Comp Cam stage IV (picked up 78 rwhp) - DOD delete, LS3 conversion from L99. low rpm it definitely bucks, but i love it, idle sounds amazing. I'm at 400hp. here's vid "idle"

Sounds about what I am looking for. Are you an ls3 or l99?

That sounds wicked! How much bucking and how bothersome is it?
