Cam for a l99 camaro 2SS

What's a good cam for my 2013 l99 ? I wanna see some good gains I've seen many cams out there make some great power, but I'm not sure which one to choose from any suggestions Also I don't want a crazy expensive cam a pretty cheap cam that'll do great power . Oh and also what else would I have to upgrade ? I know the valve springs And what else ??

Mods / K&n cai , Kooks Lt headers with high flow cats , flow master axle back,

Talk to GPI. Experts on VVT cams. Rhino79 (Ryan) is the goto guy. Best to call them...

BTW, cheap and power usually don't mix ;o). Lot of things to update when you go for power... they'll setup a kit for you based on your goals...

Depending on the cam you may need a torque converter, and they can be budget unfriendly.

What Don said. Cheap and power don't go together. You'll find out soon enough

If you can only afford one mod at a time. Stall converter first.

Depends on what your goals are. I have the VVT SS1, but I don't drag race. If you don't plan on road racing at all, the converter is first, that will open up your cam options as Bo stated...

Me, I road race so a converter is a no go. SS1 is a street friendly cam and I can still take it out for a 30 minute road race session and trans temps are excellent, because I didn't upgrade the converter...

Drag, get the converter first. Wakes up the car...

(I'm FI BTW...)

Thanks!

I'm FI so I now have 3.45s. I did it all at the same time. Ryan can tell you the typical gains. No issues with the converter after it broke in. It does push just a little when new.

It is a great na cam if you want stock drivability. SS2 would be pushing it on the stock converter.

Don't have to have gears unless you are not going FI. 3.91s on the auto is awesome as long as you stay na.

You're gonna need to upgrade a pretty decent amount which normally comes packaged together for most cams.

Including labor and a good tune, look to spend at least $4k - $5k
