I have an odd sound, would recording it be pointless?

Yeah you can give this topic 1 star.

Anyway, there is a sound coming from my engine bay, and I can elaborate more on it but I'd imagine that having someone hear it would make more sense.

I'm going to try and record it, using my camera phone, and move around they bay to try and isolate the sound.

Any tips?

Or anyone in NJ wanna just listen to my Camaro in person?

I have a horrendous squealing coming from under the passenger side dash from the HVAC system, but it never seems to do it when I take it to the dealership, so I recorded it.

They claimed they fixed it last time I was there by replacing the blower motor... but that made no difference.

Do it. Mine was making noise a few weeks back. I recorded it with my phone, put it on YouTube, and then sent it to my builder to get his opinion on it.

Hmmm...in addition to the mystery sound (which I'll expand on when I record it), I also have an HVAC squeak, that I hear above fan setting 2, but then on the higher settings you don't hear it over the sound of the rushing air. I don't know if they are related...if they are, I'm concerned that my mystery noise is coming from my heater core.
