Kinda lame numbers, guessing most of the price is for aluminum not performance numbers.

"The new Mopar 426 Hemi Crate Engine is all-aluminum and carries ratings of 540 horsepower and 530 pound- feet of torque for a $13,675 price tag."

Thats decent for a crate engine from them, the aluminum block is a big step foward for them. Block alone my guess is $3300

Your missing the point I think. I agree GM has some more powerful options for sure but there isn't a Mopar guy on the face of the earth that would do that...LOL This is a good step for Mopar, utilizing the name and the aluminum.

But still and all aluminum big block 426 hemi, with performance numbers of a iron SB V8 on pump gas.

Thing should come with 800-1000HP as a base engine.

what is the daunted and revered all-aluminum + exotic titanium 7.0L Z06 engine rated at??? Im sure this new 426hemi crate is for people who want high power but with the docileness of a stock car......kinda like a z06.....but with more power.....
