Amazing enough, with all the problems I had during my header install, I did not take out the plugs and was fortunate not to break any.

It's all of about 15 minutes of work to remove them. I used the opportunity to go ahead and replace mine since I was already approaching 45k miles. I know it wasn't needed, but what's another $60 when I've already dropped $2k on engine upgrades...

Perfect.
I took mine out during the install.

It just gives you a couple more inches to work with, and if you don't replace them ( I didn't ), it sure beats having to replace them afterwards.....But I did replace my exhaust gasket.

Yup...pull them out or replace them later Even when you're careful it's hard not to inadvertently bump one with a header, and that's all it takes.

I actually hung the passenger side header on a spark plug during install till I got the first 2 bolts in. Same thing I did 30 years ago. Gotta be creative when doing install alone. Never had a problem with plugs, just gotta be real careful.
