ECM Crapped Out - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So last night one of my ECMs (long story) decided to crap out while I was at work and would not start. It worked fine a few hours before when I went out to get something to eat but when I went to start the car nothing would happen.

Luckily I have 2 ECMs so a generous coworker gave me a lift home to get the other one. Once I swapped them the car ran just fine.

Does anyone know why an ECM would randomly die and not work? Now I don't remember if the one that doesn't work anymore is the new one I had to get reprogrammed or not(should have labeled them). Also both ECMS have the trifecta tune in, mainly to recalibrate my speedo after the gear swap.
