I love the sound of the V8, but ultimately I knew I wouldn't be the right guy on the road to give the V8 a run for its money, so I opted for the less-thirsty V6. I'll leave that to the real enthusiasts with the digs and tuning. Who knows, though--I may move up the ladder in the future, but for now I really am digging my 2LT. If I get a V8 in the future, I'm definitely sticking to the 2010-2013 years--I'm not too big on the smaller, sleeker looks of 2014-current. They just look too... eh.

Three things you fail to realize....

1. Camaros are NOT muscle cars.
2. I'm glad I purchased a Camaro even though it's a V6. Better than some stupid Honduh.
3. With full bolt-ons and E85, I can be within 5 rwhp of your "L99" V8.

Don't get me wrong, I like V8's too, but was anyone here offering me $8-10K more so I could get a V8 back in '15? That's what most V8 guys fail to realize. Getting the V6 was a cost based decision.

Luckily, GM offers a pretty capable performing car even with the V6 in the Camaro.

lol gtfo, you're not getting 330+rwhp with bolt ons. Not happening.

No one told you to buy a brand new V6 or V8. No one was offering me $10k either.

I bought my fully loaded 2SS/RS for $25k with 38k miles... fail on your part.

Yeah but will those bolt ons give you over 410 or 420 ft lbs of torque I think not.... HP is one thing torque is another and that is where there is no replacement for displacement. I have nothing against the v6 Camaro at all & have seen many beautiful V6's on here that I think are gorgeous cars but these kind of statements make me respond to reality.

Thats fine if you want to bounce off the rev limiter all of the time whereas I like to feel the oomph around 2500-3000 RPMs.

Not even close. At best LFX guys with full bolt ons + dyno tune will net you under 300rwhp
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...4&postcount=44

Stock L99's are dyno'ed at roughly 320 - 340rwhp depending on dyno.

Unless you're slapping on turbos, the (stock) v8 Camaro is out of reach

Gringo your wrong bud......yes the Camaro was classified as a pony car ....but with higher trim levels and big v8s it was considered a musclecar.......its being branded as a sports car now. Just tells you how car descritions have changed. Ill take my stock l99 against any bolt on v6 for the win anyday. Once the mods start on the l99 things really get onesided.

guess theres a first time for everything...im quite happy with my v6.owned old school musclecars for 25 years and was tired of 8-12 mpg,and those 60s musclecars are no match for a v6 camaro in the everyday world, you know, the one with rain, corners, and panic stops.im sure the v8 does all that stuff pretty well too, with the possibility of higher fuel/insurance expense not included.the only thing the 8 has over the 6 is when you go to car shows and open the hood so people can admire the extra two cylinders...and half that stuff is covered in plastic anyway.

I did.... The V6 was more than enough power for me, I bought it for the convertible top down experience. I loved the look, and I also knew that if I got the SS, it would be trouble for me..

Love my V6

...and acceleration that shoves you back in the seat.

My wife's Chrysler 200S, a 4 door FWD econo-box, compared to the mighty V6 Camaro:

200S: http://www.caranddriver.com/chrysler/200

C/D TEST RESULTS:

Zero to 60 mph: 5.7 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.3 sec @ 100 mph

2010 V6 Camaro: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take-road-test

C/D TEST RESULTS:

Zero to 60 mph: 5.9 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 14.5 sec @ 99 mph

I get not everyone buys a Camaro for performance or acceleration, but it's silly to say the V8 doesn't offer anything the V6 doesn't other than looks and cost. It offers "wow" with a push of the pedal, vs "meh" of the V6.

My2014 lfx has 336 hp this is more power than the v8 Camaros of the eighties which only had 305 hp and were heavier cars
