Tapshift, Ideas into Reality?
Hi fellow C5ers,
I bare good news today, at least for some Automatic Camaro owners. Now some of you may know what is going on from my previous thread "Tapshift Mod Ideas..." You can follow/catch up on the adventure so far here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89160 I decided to make a new thread, because this may no longer be just a fantasy. Thanks for many of you who contributed ideas and commentary on the thread above, I have finally made contact with some developers that are INTERESTED in making tapshift paddles for the 2010 Camaros! For those who have no idea what I am talking about, to sum of the previous thread; I just wanted to swap out the tapshift "buttons" we currently have, for real paddles. Here is what I'm asking the developers to make for our Camaros. Thanks to one of our fellow C5 members, Mikk2K, who lead me into the right direction. The developers have asked me to take pictures of our steering wheels with dimensions and specs, so they can negotiate with the Korean Manufacturer to develop these Lovely paddles. Again thanks for all who have contributed in my journey, I'll be sure to post any news I have when i get them =p

You're ACE bud! I will definetly be getting these if/when they're ready.
I tried my tapshift out again today (do it once in a while) and feel it would be a better feel, much easier (turning) and nicer.

Cool guys, yeah if all of you are interested, I might be able to use this to get the manufacturers to give us some kinda discount >=D They haven't gotten back to me yet though. I suppose it's because it's the weekend lol. Hopefully I'll hear from them on Monday, and if not, I'll make sure to contact them.
I've already sent them pics of our steering wheels with measurements. Cross your fingers! Hope everything goes well =D

Good idea I am most likely going to get an automatic when I get my vert and would really love to have paddles instead of buttons, I will definitely want some of those...........subscribed

I'm really surprised that they didn't include paddle shifters on the AT Camaro.
This is what we have on my wife's Mazda MX5: a paddle shifter on both sides of the steering wheel, set behind the steering wheel for shifting up gears and then on top of the wheel for shifting down.

Really want to see how this comes out. If I am not mistaken the Vette ones you can push or pull.

I would love to see something like this finally get done, I just wish it was our project. We designed a real paddle shift set up a few months ago and have just not had the free time to get it into prototype yet. We are hoping that this winter we will be able to pull a few projects off the back burner and get them into production for spring.
