300+lbs heavier, 80 HP less than the 13' GT500

I just saw the curb weight on the ZL1 at nearly 4200lbs, making it 300+ lbs heavier than the 2013 GT500. Heavier and less power = staring at the GT500 tail pipes.

It's disappointing GM didn't reduce the weight of the ZL1

start using the "SEARCH" button...believe it or not it is your friend

And before you go making subjective claims like that, consider the GT500 had traction issues on previous models; if those traction issues are resolved on the new model then your statement will be correct when referring to a DRAG RACE only between the '13 GT500 and '12 ZL1. However, around a racetrack, it has yet to be determined as the ZL1 posted a faster time around VIR than the Nissan GTR and the Corvette ZR1, so it is definitely a very fast car around corners

I heard there's an easy mod to remove as much as 300lbs from the car. Remove the driver that keeps complaining about something we've known for 3 years. If you want a lighter Camaro wait till 2016. If you want a faster one buy a ZL1.

Any car with 500hp without launch control and drag racing on street tires WILL HAVE traction issues, you know that don't you? The GT500 has never had a launch control until the 2013 model. Consistent mid 3sec 0-60 and mid 11sec 1/4 runs have been "unofficially" reported. BTw, really? The Zl1 was faster at VIR than the ZR1? Highly doubt it man.

So OP... Did you just join or are you totally oblivious to the can of worms you just opened?

Let's let the cars hit the streets and let regular joes at the local strip and autocross events see if the +300 and -80 really mean anything. MmmKay!

Personally I couldn't care less which is faster. I'll never have either one. We can let the owners duke it out but most of them will just wave their dunno sheets while they dust them off at car shows.

Sent while on baby duty.... please sleep

Did you notice the 2012 ZR1 time of 2:19 further up the list?

HA! Did you even read the list or did you just search for camaro and see what was around it? there were about 4-5 ZR1's with faster times on stock tires if you bothered to read the list from the top. also these are Nürburgring Nordschleife lap times not VIR(Virginia International Raceway) times.
