"Theft Attempted" message ?!

What does this mean?
I just saw the message displayed like 5 minutes ago.
how can a message like that be triggered? i don't see anything misplaced in my car and no damage or anything else.

This can happen if you use the key fob to lock yourself or someone else in your car then try to get out manually (setting off the beeping alarm)

Got this message when I popped the hood when the car was locked.

but see i didn't pop the hood or do anything. as a matter of fact, i didn't touch my car for a good 3 hours. it's been sitting on my curb for a a couple and i usually park it in my gated driveway at around this time and thats when i seen this message. and i'm pretty concerned and rightfully so.

You live in SoCal, so maybe an earthquake set it off?

I wish that could've been the case instead of an actual theft attempt, but we haven't had any major earthquakes or even minor ones for that matter.

I always liked the James Bond movie where "Jaws" reads the warning sticker on the side window and then tries to steal Bond's car anyway.....the car blew up and took "Jaws" with it. Never forget that part, hilarious!

That happened in For Your Eyes Only. Jaws wasn't in that one.

I like the opening scene in RoboCop 2 where the car thief is electrocuted in the driver's seat.

Sorry. I didn't mean to mess with your car. I mistook it for mine. You may want to get a new toothbrush as well...

Did you unlock with the fob? Or did you happen to unlock it with your key?
