Current ZL1 trade in market
Been pondering selling or trading in the Z. Reason being I moved and changed jobs and it just doesn't really fit with my current needs from a vehicle. My commute is about 40-45 miles round trip each day and I don't currently have a garage for it. So I feel like I'm running it into the ground and my running expenses are pretty high (gas at 16 mpg, tires, etc). I don't have a good place to wash and detail it currently (could take it somewhere if I wanted but like doing it myself). Traffic is congested so I never get to actually use the power or performance. I've thought about buying a commuter and letting it sit, but still wouldn't have a garage for it. I probably will buy a commuter regardless if I can get the right deal on one because I'll probably save $150-200 on running expenses per month.
Now that my rant/story is over with, has anyone traded in their Z recently? what were you offered? I have a 2014 with 12k miles on it. Kbb says it's worth about $41-42k. Is that reasonable to assume I could get out of it? Last edited by zogster; 04-16-2016 at 06:17 PM. |

I think you could easily get $42K with those miles and depending on options and finding the right buyer in the market. Trade-ins are a different story. They will low ball you for $7 to $10K less than that or hide it in the sale price of the new vehicle.

I was offered $42K yesterday for my 2013 ZL1 w 3400 miles trade in for a Z28. Could not come to terms on the sale YET... (still working it) but that is what I was offered. Good Luck!
