St. Louis Rams rookie QB Sam Bradford was a finalist for the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month award for September, which ultimately went to Lions RB Jahvid Best.
No doubt about it, Best is off to a great start. Bradford leads all rookie and second year quarterbacks in passing yards, tied with
Josh Freeman for completion percentage (59 percent) and has the seventh most passing attempts (117) of any QB in the league. Check out Bradford's stats through three games, notice anything?

Week 1: 32-55, 58.2 percent, 253 yards, 1 TD, 3 INT, 2 sacks, 53.1 rating
Week 2: 14-25, 56 percent, 167 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 3 sacks, 86.6 rating
Week 3: 23-37, 62.2 percent, 235 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 sack, 78.1 rating
Week 4: 23-41, 56.3 percent, 289 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 4 sacks, 93.3 rating

As the weeks have gone by, Bradford's shown improvement with each outing. Combine that with the improvement the team around him showed between weeks 2 and 3, and you could really have something here. Seattle is allowing 315 yards per game through the air this season, so Sam could really pad his stats and help his team get a win this week.
September may not have been Bradford's month for rookie honors, but it's a good bet that one of the coming months will be.
He's also one of the top contenders for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, though that's a tough road for a rookie QB.

Right now I would have to place Best first with Bradford second. That was really painful to type considering I thought Bradford was overrated and would be a flop. It's still early and Matthews could easily overtake either Best or Bradford. I don't put much stock in Dez but I could be wrong.

Bradford has a great chance of being ROTY considering all the injuries and lack of playing time. So long as he keeps his health up, I wouldn't be suprised. He and Best are the only two I can see being there. Matthews has fallen considerably with the rise in playing time for Tolbert in SD.

I'll toast with the winner when it's all said and done. Frankly, I don't care either way. It's all beer to me.

No Sanchez for MVP.........maybe not

But Bradford is the real deal. Definate Rookie of the year. He is doing it on a bad team with no elite receivers. Hopefully he can stay healthy unlike stafford.

Oh and Sanchez > Henne.

I agree bradford does have a shot, but I think Dez Bryant has a much better shot, he is a beast!

Belichek is going back to the ball control style. I doubt Hernandez gets many looks.

I don't think so. Right now Best would be ahead of Bryant and if Matthews gets healthy I can see him having a better year than Bryant too.

Bryant stats:

Rec - 14
Yds - 158
Avg - 11.3
Yds/G - 52.7
Lng - 30
TD - 0

Ret - 5
Ret/yds - 89
Avg. - 17.8
Lng - 62
TD -1

Best Stats:

Att - 50
Yds - 174
Avg - 3.5
Lng - 33
TD - 4

Rec. - 21
Yds - 217
Avg - 10.3
Lng - 75
TD - 1
