There are other things that can cause similar symptoms. Having the strong MAF is not the cure all, but it is very often the culprit and is something that most people (including people that work on these cars for a living) do not know about.

Our MAF sensors are genuine GM parts that we get from GM. They are checked by them and us when we get them to ensure that they are all "strong". The JET MAF sensors are not an upgrade. They are stock MAF sensors with a sticker on them.

So if I have a weak MAF and just got tuned with headers and catback, should I get the strong MAF and get tuned again?

If you have a "weak" MAF then yes you should get a strong one, but you would not need to get retuned afterwards.

I have either a "0" or an "O". Either way, I have a weak MAF on my SS. Dammit.

No thank you for the good info. Apparently my tuner didn't know how to spot a weak sensor even after I asked him about it. I read your article and used my scanner to check the MAF sensor reading and it's reading 1.5 at idle. If it wasn't for your thread I would have never checked. Thanks again. All your threads are very well thought out and on point, they should be required reading. Lol

I just installed the K & N cold air intake on my 2013 Camaro. The car will not idle. Would this be a sensor issue or needing a tune after the install? Or is there something else I can do to adjust the idling or whatever it takes.

Thanks in advance.

I bet that gave you a good scare. Glad it turned out to be something simple.
