Arrow L99 Highway MPG

I had cruise control on at about 63, AFM kicked in, and I got this...

Pretty good, eh? I intially had 40.6 then it went down to 38.5 and stopped there. Very nice numbers from a 400 HP engine, especially a 6.2 L.

CAMAROS DON'T GET 40 MPG- You have to reset the MPG computer at the start of your trip. My 2SS/RS got 26.6 MPG at 4:00 am on the interstate with no traffic at 70 MPH for one hour (70 miles) with the cruise control set. No acceleration, no breaking- Perfect flat level driving.
On a regular 300 mile trip at 60-75 MPH, regular driving I got exactly 22 MPG.

Wow, I just had my AFM tuned out. Should be interesting. Supposedly I will get better city mileage because of the tune, but obviously the highway mileage will suffer, but it should average out and get about the same as before the tune.

Stay tuned.

This was a 20 minute trip on a flat level highway with a few gradual ups.

For you St. Louis guys, I went from Arnold to Downtown St. Louis...55 North.

It was 38 once i pulled off the interstate. Then it went down due to the city driving of course. It was 38 trust me. If I kept going it would have stayed that way.

I've seen those numbers around 60 MPH, but only with a nice tailwind or a downhill gradient. I'm sure if you would have turned around and did the same trip it would have read somewhere around 20-22. Still, if you got that for 20 min good for you.

I like how people can just tell when AFM kicks in... like the car tells them.

Yeah, you'll get 99mpg+ when you're going 100mph down hill and running on 4 cylinders.

But there is no way that you'd even break 30mpg on a level highway at any speed with the L99.

You can tell. You can here it and you can even feel it if your hand is on the shifter. Plus the RPM drops...

Actually, engine is running and you're not moving so it wouldn't be that high.
