CAI and Exhaust ?

Just bought my 2SS/RS over the weekend, so i don't know $hit about them.

So if i put in a CAI and a cat-back exhaust do i need to mess with the ECM or will the stock ECM recalibrate? And what is the usual HP gains for this set-up..Thinking about a ADM intake with a Flowmaster.

You could tune the ECM, but tuning kinda voids your powertrain warranty. With just a CAI and cat/back I would use only 91 or better gas, and pull the #5 and #20 fuses over night to reset the ECM. Reinstall the fuses and the engine will relearn somewhat. The are lots of post about this. Search around and you will get some great info. Congrats on the car!!!

I did a catback and CAI, pulled 5 and 20 fuses overnight. No tune. I am still smiling! MagnaCharger 2300 is in the very near future and will settle for a "safe" tune.

Why would you pull fuses?

Great first mods. You do not have to tune the computer for those items, unless you want to squeeze every last bit of horsepower out of your car.

Good luck with the new car!!

I installed a Roto-Fab CAI and Solo Performance cat back and man what a difference. No tune needed and the added throttle response, sound, and performance has given me a permasmile! The ADM and Flowmaster are a good choice also. It'll be interesting to see the results of the CAI shootout. I think ADM and Roto-Fab will be right up there! You don't need a tune until you get into Long tube headers and cams. Some will tell you that your leaving HP and fuel mileage on the table without a tune, but with a tune you throw your powertrain warranty out the window!

Just bought my Flowmaster cat-back system #817481 for $659.00. Now lets see which CAI to get... I will post some pics/vid when i get the exhaust installed...I sure like the way a Flowmaster sounds...Not OBNOXSIOUS!!! (excuse my spelling).
