a Review of the Trifecta tune on a Camaro SS..
when my car was bone stock, one of the 1st things I did was get with Vince and get a tune for my L99 Camaro SS, he had tuned a previous turbo SS Cobalt for me and I had his tuning software(which I had used to tune several LNFs)... his tune really woke the car up, the transmission tune alone felt amazing...
skip ahead about a year and my car was pretty much full bolt-on, I had got some updates from Vince along the way but always wondered, what would happen if I got a "live tune" from a knowledgeable LSx tuner... now I'm not going to put anyone down, just give my honest opinion, i scoured local forums, facebook groups, and everything in between to find the BEST LS tuner in the area, most people pointed me toward one specific person, so I set my ECM back to stock to unlock it(Vinces ECMs are locked which I learned the hard way, lol) and met up at the shop with the guy, he tuned it and from stock I gained a decent amount of power, didn't dyno Vince's tune so I don't know what it would have put down... the car felt equally as fast if not a little stronger so I decided to put it on the track... with better tires... I ran NO faster than Vince's Trifecta tune.... no gain in mph, almost IDENTICAL, scarily identical, times... but here is the kicker... my miles per gallon? dropped, significantly, with the full bolt-ons and Vinces tune I was STILL seeing 18mpg in town and over 20 on the highway, with the "LS experts" tune, I got at best of about 18mpg on the highway, that might even be being generous... and my average mpg on the DIC was down to 16.1, over a 2mpg drop, and I have not changed my driving habits, if anything i have to TRY to see if the mileage would increase... so I just considered it a lesson learned and put Vinces tune back on... gas mileage is back and last Saturday night my car ran its fastest time ever, lol sometimes live tuning isn't all its cracked up to be, Trifecta is a viable option and this is just my honest experience through my own personal experience

Yeah Trifecta is definitely a great way to go. I've been working with Vince for several years, great guy, knows his stuff. He doesn't like to do cams but just about anything else he'll happily do.
