Any more pictures of different installs of the reservoir ??. Curious if anyone has come up with a different solution than the 2 different mounting locations detailed in this thread. It may be in all my head but since I installed the GTO reservoir, changed to DOT4 fluid and bled the system my clutch pedal feel and shifting are smoother. Anyone else notice an improvement ??

Here are some pics of the custom brackets I made for the reservoir and battery terminal. I wanted to install it in a way that looked like a factory part. I cut the brackets out of 1/8" Aluminum plate. I mounted the reservoir to the bracket with a couple of blind screws from the local hardware store. The new bracket is mounted to the front mounting whole in the master cylinder using the original screw. Haven't installed the new terminal bracket yet but should have it done sometime today and will post up some pics.

As long as you replace the fluid, You will have smoother shifting, And you will see that you fluid does not get red like the OEM.

Nice install TC. I've been wanting to do this mod but wasn't happy with what people have been doing, but that's just me. I had the idea of fabbing up a bracket and mounting it to the reservoir somehow, but your idea is looks good.

I take it that the stock hose is plenty long enough to reach the new spot as well? And was moving the battery cable over necessary?

The stock hose is not long enough. It takes about 16"- I think the original hose was only 14". I purchased the new hose from a commercial truck supplier. 3/8" triple wall, I believe the OE is metric and could not find the right size. 1/4" is a bit to small.
I have Procharger that came with a relocation bracket. Problem is that I put a much bigger filter on than which came with the kit and the inside is being smashed by the terminal.

Just installed reservoir and remote bleeder. Some observations...

Reservoir could be bigger, constantly filling after couple air bleeds.

I installed a remote bleeder. OE bleeder a PITA. Borescope helps, but still PITA. Finger tip threading and unthreading. Take precautions not to allow OE bleeder tube to drop in the bell housing.

Anyone use a Motive brake/clutch bleeder kit on the Camaro? Comes with compatible clutch and brake caps? Manual bleeding sucks.

Good point I didnt mention. Used edpm cap and hose. Looking into a motive power bleeder for clutch and brakes just for convenience.

Had 7000 miles on car and fluid was dark.

Question for the group... in looking at the awesome mods for the relocation of the aux reservoir, I noticed some brackets being painted. Since brake fluid/hydraulic fluid is so corrosive to paint, is there any kind of paint that will not be eaten up by fluid getting spilled on it? I don't know enough about powder coating but I am thinking maybe that is the way to go? Painters out there???

Dont spill the brake fluid on the bracket. Once the cap is on and sealed your bracket will be fine.

I put towels down under it to help protect the fender wells and if you do accidentally spill some pour some water on it as fast as you can....but don't get any water in the resivoir. Keep a cup next to you ready to go.
