IMO there will be a Z/28, look for it in 2018, that ZL1 looks nice but there is more to come, small CI high RPM car IMO, and it will be a small run of cars.

I'd love for someone at a dealership to pull the list so I could just start calling. It is true that many of the dealers have started to sell the cars to themselves (i.e. the used car division) so they can actually afford to take the hit on the used car side. As far as I know GM doesn't have a bad boy NA engine in the lineup like the LS7 so a comparable Z could seem to be out of the question? |

I hope they don't!
Have Chevy do us that favor let our cars start to appreciate; and we got away with the last 427 since the first 69 in 69 or the COPO's...we'll all laugh on our way to the bank eventually.

I have read articles suggesting that the Z/28 was the benchmark for the new ZL1 and that it surpassed it. I have a feeling that's very track specific to track which really favor the increased HP and maybe downplay the superior brakes and tires of the Z/28.
I like the idea suggested where a performance package may be added to the ZL1 to give it the CF brakes and maybe some real track rubber. Personally I purchased a 2014 ZL1 but have been debating trading it in on a "leftover" Z/28. (or jumping ship to a GT350R {which is impossible to get}) but the new ZL1 is sucking me back into the fold... |

I don't care what happens so long as the / is not given to any new Z/28 unless it is earned.

Lots of interesting theories in that other forum. I'd be surprised if a new Z/28 rolled out right on the heels of the ZL1. Usually they roll the next "hot" thing out once the hype has begun dying down on the last "hot" thing. E.g. 2012 ZL1 debuted in Nov of 2011 and then the 2014 Z/28 in March of 2013. Also, if you check via Google, there were Z/28 spy shots in 2010 with some claiming that 2012 would bring the new Z/28. Everybody is just guessing at this point (which is half the fun!).

Looks like it is happening....this is definitely going to be a new engine we've never seen before and possibly a different trans. This would be a good platform to 'test' those parts for a new mid-engine Corvette...
