Nice pics. I'm just not feeling the overall look of the 6th Gen. It's not ugly but not the best it could be IMO

2016 Wheels&redlines
I truly like the wheels on that red 2016. I am old school, don't care for the all black wheel look. Do like the redline tires on that black 2016, had a set of redline tires on my 1967 Chevelle SS, which I bought new in 1966. I do love black&red.

I really want to see one in person before making a call. When the 2014 refresh came out I said I did not like it until I saw one in person and actually think they are really nice.
But from the pics I have seen so far I'm really leaning towards the 5th gen styling. Gen 6 looks too busy for me but we'll see what its like in person. Thanks for the pics OP! |

Not alot of "big" differences compared to other car redesigns. 6th Gen front is nice but the rest goes to the fifth. Dump that WRX Spoiler!

I think they are moving too far away from the original retro look. I also don't like the location of the SS badges on the 2016. Just my $.02

Thanks for the comparison photos. Have to agree the 6 gen doesn't get it for me. When I tally up the pro's and con's specifically for looks the 5 gen wins hands down. Really don't like the gas fill position and the rear window blocks even more view.

Pretty interesting pics, they really look a lot alike at first glance. Its when you start comparing that the differences are apparent.
No matter what you guys think, the 6th gen is going to be a much better car than the 5th gen--better handling, tighter chassis, more power, better performance and more amenities. |

The lack of thick hips bothers me... But I would still take the car if I was given one

I have no clue how the placement of the "SS" badges made it to production. They are in the weirdest places!

It's looks are acceptable to me. I am not blown away or disgusted by them. It will all come down to two things. One, if the standard SS is already better than the 2013 to 2015 1LE's, I will give it a look, and if the Gen 6 1LE's are that much of a step up again over the standard SS as is the case with the Gen 5's, it may be hard to pass up. Two, I am going to have to fit! I am a big guy, and can give up no more interior room!
PS: Thanks OP for the side by side pictures. Those are the first I have ever seen! |

The 6th gen is a good looking car but I am real glad I bought my 2013. Now that the new one is out my mind is made up to keep mine.
They went from updated classic 5th gen, to new sports car 6th gen. If I am going new sports car it opens up a lot of different options. |
