Black Chrome on stock wheels

I wanted to paint my stock wheels a gunmetal color but everything I kept finding when I searched just wasn't what I was looking for. I really like the black chrome and the hyper black look but I'm not willing to pay the price to get it done professionally yet, plus I will probably get aftermarket wheels eventually, so I decided to give the Dupli Color Shadow Chrome kit a try on the stock wheels. I didn't know how it would work on non-chrome wheels but I thought what the heck. It only cost about $70 for everything I needed (that includes $20 for the Meguiars polishing kit that I definitely did not need). I only bought two Shadow Chrome kits because I only wanted the wheels to be slightly darker. Some of the videos I watched recommended one kit per wheel but the Dupli Color video said one kit would cover all four wheels, so I compromised. The color turned out to be almost exactly what I wanted but I could've used at least one more of the high gloss clear coat that came with it. For the price I couldn't be happier.

This is what I started with:

Green caps usually mean nitrogen filled and are so colored so someone doesn't just top off with air.

What would be the problem with that?

Nothing catastrophic but it negates the point and benefits of running pure nitrogen.

A good start... don't be afraid to go fully blackened! That blue with smoked markers, tailights, possibly black stripes or cf hood and black rear wing... looks amazing. Or go white. Just some thoughts... keep going!
