End of the Road...

The end of the modification road that is! This was my final piece of the puzzle after completing the blower cam/lifter upgrade. 4 months short of 2 years into ownership. I thought I paced myself well.

For those on the fence about a strut brace, GET OFF THE FENCE and do it! I have always been a proponent of them and used them on most anything I owned. They have always been worth the $ for me. But then I am extremely picky about handling...

I went with the Hotchkis unit as I was extremely impressed with their Max Chassis Brace I have and they were one of the few that would clear the SC. This thing IS stout. I forgot to weigh it tho:angry:.

Install was a 3-wrench on a scale of 5 for me. Woulda been a 2 had I not had to take my CAI out and been so picky about treating/sealing the holes that I had to drill. Hint: When installing the rear bolt on the pass side, they want you to load it from underneath and point back. Getting the nut and lock washer on there was gonna be a bitch so I reversed the bolt by using locking vise grips and loading it from the back.

For those with stock struts it would be more work as the springs would be in the way and require you to drop the struts to drill the holes. Absolutely NO room to do this from the top on the pass side rear and the drivers rear woulda been difficult BUT could be done with a 90 deg drill and some serious elbow grease. Having completely trashed my collar bones/shoulders/wrists, I passed and went from underneath. It was easier for me as I have Pfadt CO's and could clear the springs with them in place.

Now what the hell am I gonna do with my time? The Monster (S4RS) is finished and the Thruxton is too (unless I decide to go big bore ).

Hey Buddy is that you, happy that you joined the Strut brace crowd, I took my Pfadt brace off the weekend that I went to New York and almost crashed 5 times cornering, proof that it does make a difference. It felt really loose and freaking boring is heck without the brace and understeered like hell. Now my Pfadt brace is on and is staying there. Love your set up , only thing is I don't like the way Hotchkis bar requires you to drill on the strut tower seem where the bond meets, however their bar is sexy is hell.

It ties the 2 strut towers together eliminating the flex between them within the front clip. It improves the handling and how the car tracks over uneven junk.
