Electric Exhaust Cutouts?

were these just a flash in the pan popular 5-7 yrs ago or are many people still doing them?
Whats best bang for buck model that will last

Im not really satisfied with the droney exhaust previous owner installed.
The overal exhaust isnt even very loud at all, in fact i was told and convinced it was stock until i purchased it and actually clicked on the cruise at highway speed and noticed SUBSTANTIAL drone.

BUT i still have the orginal cans from my first 2LS camaro, so i could experiment with stock cans beside electric or even manual cable adjusted cutouts if electrics are way too expensive in canada
