2019 taillights on 2016

I might have missed this some where and can look and see some differences, But are there any 2019 versions of the taillights for my 2016 in clear or smoked.

You're probably the only person I've heard of interested in the 2019 lights. You might try posting in the 4sale section for someone wanting to swap out theirs.

I guess you'll have to buy the MY2019 tail lights _AND_ the rear plastic bumper cover, too as the lower shape of the new lights have got a kind of angle that is missing on the previous MY Camaros.

See you!!,

Lol true on both accounts i'm sure lol... I have to admit they are starting to grow on me.. Really starting to see the school look in them.. Like actual two separate taillights..

I don't think they're as bad as everyone seems to think, if I were buying a 2019 I'd be ok with them.
Wanting to change from the 18 version to the 19 is a different story though.
Good luck...........

He is not, there are lots of members looking to do the swap, i know we get the calls all the time, now for the bad news ( we have not tested it out) The internals are not the same, and the 19 have a different resister value so car hyper flash's when you do the swap.

Love how all the folks who have been saying that the 19’s are horrendous... ugly front ends, ugly rear lights, etc blah blah blah. Now ppl wanna make their 18 look like a 19? I just bought a 19, my 1st Camaro. Wasn’t even a hard decision and I had an 18 1le sitting right next to the 19 1le. I respect everyone’s taste, just kinda funny

No, but the consensus of what most people think is that the 2018 looks better than the 2019.

I think the 2019 rear lights look great. I've liked them since the reveal. I also like the 2016 rears. I too have considered switching them up, but it would require changing the entire bumper also.

That doesn't sound too bad, honestly. Eventually, somebody will sell a kit or pre-modded lamps that work for a retrofit. So long as the sheet metal of the car is compatible, that's the main thing by far.

I actually have the same question but for the opposite. Is it possible to put the 2018 dark OEM tail lights on a 2019 model? I'm aware of the shape difference in the rear bumper but is it possible for it to work or does it need coding?

You obviously haven't seen the 2019 Camaro tailights on the road at night. It looks like crap when lit up in person. The housing also looks like a round peg in a square hole from the sides.

The black tailights for the 2016-2018 are the best, and they actually match the black HMTBL, which the 2019 also uses but doesn't match.

Bet it has more to do with the desire to remain "current" than actually preferring the '19 look... it's a complete mismatch with the rest of the design, but this horse has been beaten to pulp already.

My 19 will be my third Camaro, and I can't wait 'til it arrives! Love the new SS, not so thrilled with the big smile on the four and six cylinder models...Still like the older models, too, but do not think the '19 is a "fail"in any sense.

Hope you enjoy yours!
