With the 1LE and DSSV struts available from GM, why are these of interest?

I had the 1LE struts and they honestly don't feel of quality and the oil contents made the struts feel cheap, made that sound like the oil would easily foam up with heavy use. The Z28 pieces aren't available unless bought with the whole suspension kit so these fit in where some may not need coilovers but want better than 1LE performance. Gen 4 Camaro owners I met told me they liked Koni Yellows a lot on track plus they have levels of adjustments , 3 I think. If the z28 pieces are available as just shocks and struts let me know.

I think the Koni may offer an option to those who do not want/afford coilovers, BUT ONLY if they offer an advantage over the OE 1LE struts. I had the single adjustable (rebound) yellow Konis on my 4TH gen '95 with Eibach then Strano springs and they worked great. There also was the double adjustable which added compression adjustability. Both sets were beyond just 3 levels of adjustability, could adjust to any point within the soft and stiff limits.
From what I have read the Z/28 springs are quite a bit stiffer so the Z/28 strut/springs may be too much for some. And if the Z/28 struts were available alone, would they even be feasable with a softer spring?

For the price of those Koni Yellows, you could spend 600 more bucks and have the entire 1LE setup, minus wheels/tires of course.

Coilovers, $2100 for Ridetechs
Apex/Pfadt springs $200 + Konis $900=$1100 Many advantages to the Ridetechs vs lowering spings. That $1000 saved can be used for camber plates.

I'd like to see someone with a shock dyno back-to-back compare the following, new out of the box.
-OE SS struts -OE 1LE struts -OE Z/28 struts -Koni Oranges -Koni Yellows (on each adjustment) that way if you want more damping, but don't want to go to coilovers, you really know what you're options are. You could run a good set of struts with a stiffer set of springs, and JusticePete's knuckles, and have a good, consistent setup that behaves with the OE geometry.

I went to track with both 1LE shocks, and then Z/28 setup on my 1LE, and both performed admirably. I ended up doing 1:58.2 with 1LE shocks, and 1:57.2 with Z/28 shocks. I bet the gap would widen with R-compound tires, but I never felt under-dampened at the track with 1LE shocks. Keep in mind, they are monotube unlike standard SS suspension.
