Not 100% sure but gotta think if the Trofeos work, Michelin’s (4s, SS, etc) are good to go as well?.

Still seems like no “definitive” answer on this..
My original Tofeos are coming up on 5yrs old, so I need to make a decision coming up soon.

Based on what I’m seeing here in DFW
-325/30 Conti extreme sports front/rear are working really good and look good!
-305/30 Michelin 4S front/rear - great tire, but sill looks a little skinny.

-I’m Michelin guy, have run them on all my cars for years including 2 Porsche 928s (ran PS2s) and love them.
-A 325 4S in the rear would look better, but not sure I want to stagger..

Sorry to derail a Trofeo thread, but wanted to pick some brains that are pushing the size envelope up front.

Thx!
Funny you should say you're a Michelin guy, I'm now running Michelin Pilot Sport Cups "N" spec (but the original Cups not the Cup2s - I found some new old stock).

Right now I'm running a 305 front and 325 rear but as soon as the fronts are done I'm going to go back to a 325 on the front.

Michelin do a 345/30/R19 which I'm wondering about trying to squeeze on the rear. Pretty confident that body clearance will be ok. 11.5J is within the recommended rim for the tyre, but is the narrowest they recommend.

There's also a 315/30/R19 Cup2 which might be worth considering.

Stop going back and forth and get the Conti's already! haha :P If you decide to still not track your car, the ride quality of them and durability will be damn near flawless for the life of the tire. Not to mention, sturdy.. You know what I mean; we've had too many conversations about them at this point! They are a fantastic mid-way tire. Even after 5 track days on mine, they still have excellent tread and traction... although, I finally picked up a screw that made it through the tread! Screw - 1, Tire - 4.

I have the conti's on my 18 Golf R - they work fine for street tire - but I have had 4 punctures in 28,000 miles - seem to attract screws and such!

Latest one has resulted in need for a new tire, as it was already plugged once.

May just be bad luck - overall very nice tires - but for street only I would go with Mich PS4 - I like it best of street tires I have used.

Go with the 325s up front, Chuck. I would go with the MP4s next after my MPSS are done. I like the look of 325s up front over the 305 non-trofeos.

I'd love to see pics of the trofeo at the front on 325 if anyone has them on or has a link...

Appreciate the feedback and info y’all!
Regardless of what I end up with, looking forward to getting a more streetable tire.
Hell, even a new set of Trofeos would ride better than these nearly 5 year old originals...

I have OCD I guess 325/30-19s will work on the rear with no spacers or anything correct?

Here's a few side-by-side pics of 325 and 305 Trofeos for comparison purposes. I decided to stick with the 305's in the rear and sent the 325's back to Tire Rack.

Main reasons I kept the stock set-up is I wanted to keep the hunkered down look at the rear end (as you can see the 325's are taller) and wanted to keep the 'squared' set up...however, the 325's you guys are doing here is very intriguing!

I do like the way the 325's fill the wheel well a bit better, but this is not to say the 305 Trofeos at the rear are skinny by any means; 305's at rear still look damn good.

They fit in the back and the front with no issues. I have 325's squared up and have zero rubbing.

I really want to try that 345 rear one day!

I'd also love to get a set of 18"s that fit over the brakes. There is quite a good choice of 335/30/R18 track rubber and it'd be interesting to see how different the car feels on 18"s. I know there are a couple of members on here who have fitted 18"s for track duty.

18's are on my list as the next thing I buy. The guy that did my wrap and helped with my wing install has a CNC mill being delivered that can make wheels, so we're working out exactly what we need to build a set for me at a WAY better price than what Forgeline wants. So many race take-off's for $125~ US... and I totally missed out on Continental selling their unused track slicks from last season for $100 a pop.
