Scott,
Congrats and looking forward to seeing you and thor again and thor jr. at Carlisle. Thanks for bringing the Camaros with you. Here I am driving a THR supercharged Camaro and Kathy rides shotgun and has never driven a new Camaro. She only drives an automatic so I will be sending her to hook up with an L99 at the ride and drive. See you under the Tom Henry tent.

Scott your going to really enjoy Thor junior. Im coming up on 1 year on my 2LT RS what a trip its been. In all honesty its been a privilege owning this car. I daily drive mine i call this car "therapy on wheels". There is no way i can come home in a bad mood with a 2010 camaro as my ride its not possible. Best part about this car is the people you meet. This car is a huge conversation piece

Scott, that is such a cool story! Enjoy Thor Jr, you deserve all the perks that come your way!
I actually saw one of the CTF 2010 SS cars. I was living in Mt. Pleasant at the time. I was at a Bigby with my gf getting some coffee and looked at saw the silhouette of what I knew was a Camaro! I immediately went down and checked it out. The guy driving it was surprised that I knew what a CTF car was at all, as they weren't in production yet.
He and his wife were headed back from Mackinaw and stopping out at the Soaring Eagle Casino. He let me sit in it and give it a little rev even. Great people and glad they took time out to answer some questions from me. It made my day to say the least.

Ah yes!

Look to the immediate right of the steering wheel - (where you might consider an ignition key....) -- that flat spot??? -- Right there!

I'd been driving a Black Tahoe - awaiting a CTF 2011 Camaro.

Soooooo - a couple of weeks ago, I got a voice mail -

"Hello, Mr. Settlemire - this is Crystal at Company Vehicles - -and I'm calling to to schedule your vehicle exchange........"

(........yes!!!..........) (I've been working for GM for 33 years - and getting a new car or truck NEVER gets old......)

So - I cleaned out the Tahoe (...a great all-around vehicle -- not to mention that it's rather menacing.......in the vein of 'black suburbans'......) and headed off to the 11 Mile Road facility.

.........and was somewhat surprised to receive "Apollo" - -a 2010 Long-term durability vehicle. Apollo is a Victory Red 1SS with a manual transmission and lots of miles on him. So we headed off to the 'RenCen' for a day's work - and then went cruising home.

(.......OK - -we made a trip up and down Gratiot Avenue.........)

(.......and went and got a cup of coffee in Chicago)

(.....OK..I made that last part up......)

Apollo is well-broken-in - and is a lot of fun to drive. (..but then, aren't ALL Camaros a blast to drive?)

I gave him a good washing and cleaned his interior -- not sure how long I'd be priviledged to have him in my life........but was already bonding with him.....

...not very long, it turns out.

Seems there was a mix-up and that I was supposed to get a 2011 CTF (Captive Test Fleet) vehicle after all.......

So the other day, I picked up my phone --- and heard

"Hello, Mr. Settlemire! This is Amber at Company Vehicles - -and I have a new CTF Camaro for you!"

Now - there are all kinds of telephone calls........some we never want to get. -- others we live for --

...........this is one call one lives for................

Soooooo.......I took Apollo and got him washed - gassed him up -- and headed over to the 11 Mile Road facility.

(......OK - call me crazy, but I hate to turn in cars - I get attached to them...)

And so as I watched 'Apollo' exit thru one door - the other door opened........

........and it was almost 'Deja-vu' --

Thru the door came a Rally Yellow Camaro RS -- and my first reaction was...

!THOR JUNIOR!................

(.......he has his father's eyes.......)

Thor Jr. is a 2LT/RS with polished wheels, sunroof, Ebony Leather -- and of course - Head Up Display.

He doesn't have the deep voice of his father - but he has the same 'head turning' charm that all Camaros have. It's a part of the DNA of Camaro.

So - it's going to be another great summer.....

No Camaro can replace Thor - but Thor Junior is a delight to drive...........

He's sitting at the airport right now -- awaiting my return from Delaware -- and I'm looking forward to a long drive home......( by way of Chicago for another cup of coffee.....)

Now - there IS a reason for CTF units - and that reason is this: We want your new Camaro to be the best car you've ever owned...and so we'll go over each CTF vehicle "with a fine-tooth comb" so to speak. Yes - I'll enjoy each drive - but it goes beyond that. I'll be listening and looking for anything amiss......as will the other members of the team driving CTFs -- so that you can be assured that we are paying attention to every detail.

One tidbit: Head Up Display is 'the cat's jammies'............

See you on the road!
I told you to contact me when you're in Chicago! I'm right here! I could've bought you that coffee! The next time you're here, I expect to be able to buy you lunch.
