Question Where is battery located?

I looked under the hood the other day and could not see the Battery .
So where is the sucker! I looked and looked .

But you won't see it if you just open the trunk, pull up the mat and then pull off the cover.

They put there to keep Onstar active after a front end crash.

yeah I just realized its in the trunk under the spare tire (if you have one). I only found that out because I got a flat this weekend. :(
Probably for better front/rear weight balance as well as putting more weight over the rear wheels. and what tonyfred said.

most likely it for the front/rear weight distribution. i've helped my brother with his autocross miata and his battery is in the trunk as well.

As others have stated....
The battery is in the trunk for better weight distribution, not because of OnStar
You can jump it if necessary from under the hood
The owners manual is your friend
