Our Disney stay starts Sunday late afternoon. Plan to go to the parks mon-fri next week. Hopefully we should be fine. Our hotel in Daytona beach is currently closed and supposed to reopen the 8th when we planned to check in

Morning Everyone - Matthew is still several hundred miles south of us. He's still a Cat 3 and expected to be off the coast of Jacksonville around 2:30 this afternoon. Currently experiencing light wind and rain. Hoping to be grilling a steak and sipping on a Cutty & H2o while saying goodbye to Matthew this evening!!!

Jan - Thanks for asking. We're all doing fine! The only damage to my home was a screened panel on the pool enclosure. It's been a LONG 2 days! We lost power around 2pm on Friday and it was restored around 8pm last night. Janice & I spent Friday night with my parents because they had power. When we returned home Saturday morning the neighborhood looked like a war zone. A of trees were down along with tons of branches and leaves. Janice, my son Chad, and I grabbed the rakes and trash bags and started the cleanup. It several hours but it looked like nothing had ever happened when we finished. Two of our neighbors who are elderly were trying to cleanup their yards but not making much progress so Janice & Chad went to one and I went to the other. We worked with them until 3pm and had their yards about 90% cleaned up.

I've lived in Florida all my life and experienced many hurricanes but Matthew was the worse that I've ever encountered. Luckily, the eyewall stayed off shore and we dodged a bullet! We were all exhausted last night but it was great to sleep in my own bed. I'll post some pics later....

Thanks Everyone! The worst thing that has happen so far is an allergic reaction to an anti-inflammatory pill that I took for back pain! My face swelled up and I looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy! LOL!!!

Trickskier I am glad to hear you had very little damage , we use benedryl for allergic reactions . I hope you found something to help you .

this wknd was our thanksgiving and we had 23 people at the cottage so we only brought in a couple of tables and chairs to seat everyone .. we had a 32 lb turket and a ham .. everything in the garage is slowly coming back in , I believe my wife is going shopping for somethings at Ikea before she brings anymore in ....

Inquiries on the Chevelle have slowed down. A guy from Dallas is my latest interested party. I think some of these people are lonely and just want someone to talk to. I spend up to 1.5 hours talking to each interested party, then they disappear.

Meanwhile, i've been calling the seller of my possible replacement. I "think" he might just wait for me to sell my car, as he has put it away for the season. Nice guy, but knows my situation.
