Key fob beautification kit "free"
So I went to my dealer and ordered the "kit" to fill the ugly gap in the side of my key fob. The parts guys didn't know about this ( my best bud is a service writer at another Stealership and he didn't know about it either). It was 26.00 plus tax and when I got it it consisted of a large bag with five smaller bags containing the pieces to " beautify" two key fobs each. Which tells you that GM did not mean for this to be sold to consumers. I have enough kits left to fix eight key fobs so they are up for grabs. PM me and I'll give you my address; send me a self addressed stamped envelope for EACH kit and I will mail them back to you.
The process for the repair is as follows: Remove the battery cover, make sure the blade is in the open position and then insert the filler piece with "Camaro" written on it into the slot. Close the blade and install the new battery cover.

Go back and read his first post again. It cost him $26 dollars but he got enough to do 8 key fobs not 1 set.

If I remember correctly I was able to get mine free as a TSB. I think Maureen from Rogers sent me the bulletin so I had the number for my dealer to order free of charge. But I must say the key fob looks way better without the big hole lol.

I’ve given out the other sets. One set disappeared into the great unknown called the US Postal Service. Oh well, you can call your local Chevy dealer and they should be able to find the TSB. If they balk tell them the TSB shows .3 hours prt key. I don’t know a service writer or tech who wouldn’t jump on .6 for two minutes work.
