Tire life
Obviously these tires aren't made for mileage but researching what I want to get and trying to cover all the angles of cost of ownership.
Has anyone worn out a set of stock tires yet? If so how many miles did you get , at what mileage did the ride quality start to fall off, how aggressive do u drive. Thanks a bunch |

5700 miles, 4 track days, 1 day at the drag strip and 100s of full throttle accelerations.
I rotated them once (dismount, remount). Outside edges of the left side are done from the track days but there is just enough rubber to make it two more months before I put the car up for the winter. For me I figure under 7k miles and they will be replaced. Matt

6000 km (3700 miles) and mine barely look touched. I have been pretty easy on them so far though. A few spirited drives and hard accelerations but nothing major.
My girlfriend's 1LE has already gone through one set of rear tires in 16000 km (10000 miles), but the fronts are wearing excellently, think they are still at 6/32nds. She will probably go through another rear set before she has to change the fronts honestly.

2800 miles, one track day and a weekend at Woodward, and my rears are done for, fronts don't look cooked yet, but lots of rubber boogers still.

The ZL1 guys are getting 15k max out of these tires. That's only possible if you never screech a tire.

Mine actually broke traction on the 1 -> 2 shift yesterday when I pulled out of a side street onto a 55mph road. It was awesome! And that was WITH traction control on.
I'm guessing I'll only get 10 to 11k out of my rears... But what the hell, I'm having loads of fun with this thing.

By the way, I am planning on going with the 305/35-20 when I burn up the 285s back there now... Anyone else do this on theirs?

Yes I've seen others do this. It will change the handling and give you the understeer that the engineers worked to remove out of the SS with the 1LE.

I am 11k and am ready for rears. The fronts still have a few thousand miles left in them. I am torn as to what my next set will be... pretty sure I will try and match the OEM square setup as much as possible. |

I got Michelin Super Sports around 11k. The Goodyears in the rear were pretty much done. Mabye another 1k in them. The fronts, like tramtwo said, still had another 3-4k. No track days on the Goodyears, lots of DD miles, but a ton of full throttle accelerations...

You did well to get that many miles out of them. I've had people tell me that it's time for new tires when they look at them then I tell them I don't even have 2K miles on it yet. They just don't come with much tread.
