It's the builtin GM bog.

I got a low 1.7 once on street tires @ like 35 pounds.

But even with DRs things don't improve much.

I was hoping to get there again last weekend, but the track was terrible, at least for my stock tires. Wish I'd had some drag radials and I would've ran 10s all day. I did get a new best et for that track and a new best mph though. Ran an 11.13 at 130, peddling the first 100' or so. Made 12 full passes, all around 130 mph with a high of 131.

I have DRs and a Rotofab, so 10s should be possibly possible. I am stuck in the 11.4s. I have yet to beat my best 60's stock with the 17" ET SS Mickey Thompsons. But to be fair to the tires I only have a few runs on them.

The other problem I am having is if there is too much time between runs the car cools off too much and timing is pulled and MPH drops like a stone. So I keep the hood down and need to start the car at least 5 minutes before a run and I watch the oil temp gauge. The one below is not quite there. The bar needs to split the 200. There are 10 quarts of oil in there! Others must also have this problem.

Also my ZL1 is low on MPH compared to others. in -1500 DA 1/4 tank all stock I could barely touch 126. Usually I am at 122-125.

Fraxum, that sounds almost totally backward. A cool engine should pull less timing than a hot one. Sure. You need the oil and trans temps to be warm, but you shouldn't have to make sure they're at 200. The only issue I've ran into with temps being too low was when the trans was below 150 and it was slow to shift into 4th and caused the car to hit the rev limiter. If you're not cooling that supercharger down, you're going to be giving up some mph. I keep my hood up as much as possible between runs and while sitting in the staging lanes. Don't idle the car while sitting in the staging lanes either, because that will heat you up in a hurry. If you can't pull right up to the lane to make a pass, shut it off and pop the hood. Try to keep the sun off of the supercharger too. If you have good cool air, say 50 or less, and can lap right back around and run again, the car will stay good and cool and mph good for 5 or 6 back to back passes or more. When it's hot out, you'll see a mph drop on your 3rd pass. The supercharger should feel cool to slightly warm to the touch. If it feels hot when you touch it, you're leaving a good 2 to 3 mph on the table.

130MPH is a good trap speed. Get some DRs on that thing! Your 60' must be in the 1.7 or 1.8 range?

Temperatures are a valid concern. I've been dissecting the tune in my Hellcat and it has torque management tables based on engine oil temp, engine coolant temp, air charge temp, and intake manifold temp. The EOT and ECT there's a sweet spot of temp range where it gets the full monty, too low or too high and it dials it back. For ACT and IMAT too high it dials it back. So you want warm fluids and a cool intake.

I competed in an event a couple weekends ago at VMP and ran the car in the 10.50 class. Real consistent 10.5x passes and came in 3rd. The guy that beat me was in a gutted race car Charger and went on to win the entire event.

I'm not gonna be stock much longer, these Demons and the upcoming Redeye are gonna require me to add some power to keep up. I came in runner up to a Demon at a Hemi street car event in May, no bueno.

60s were terrible that day. Worst I've had in a long time.
That's been pretty typical for that track though. My stock tires might be giving up some grip on me too with nearly 60 passes and almost 7k miles on them now. I had 2 1.77 60s but was peddling to get that, and had to continue peddling past the 60 mark. If I had only struggled with the first 60, I feel the 1.77 would've had me close or into the 10s with the way it was trapping. Most of my 60s that day were high 1.8s and 1.9s, all the way to a 2.1!

On a good track I'm consistently in the low 1.7s. My previous track event to this one, I had back to back 1.71s and a PB 1.69 on the 3 passes I made, so there's not much room for improvement with a drag tire on a track like that. I've been planning on a wheel and tire for some time now, but haven't found the deal I'm after. I sure wish I had them Sunday. I was hoping to improve my bone stock fast list time and go a bit deeper into the 10s on the factory rubber. I feel like it will if I can just get good air and track at the same time. Once I feel like I've ran as fast as possible on the factory rubber, I'll probably never run them again, unless I run a street tire event.

Anyone else notice on youtube people leaving the the car in touring mode? Doesn't that leave performance on the table for the transmission?

I've not tested it to know 100%, but I think the only thing you would lose is the aggressive downshifts at the end of a pass to help you slow down. I think it would still upshift exactly the same. I know there is no difference at all between Sport and Track. I run them both. I drive mine in Sport all the time, so last Sunday I left it in Sport and simply done the double tap to put the car in Competitive Mode instead of going to Track and holding the button for 10 seconds to turn everything off. Both methods give the same result.

Don't quote me on this but doesn't it short shift first gear in touring?
