# of free oil changes?

Where in the manual or website or anywhere does it state how many free oil changes are covered on a new 2014 z/28? Any other free stuff? Tire rotation side to side?

My dealer was a bit uppity on the cost of the 50 weight and then (I believe) overcharged for the tranny fluid change.

any info appreciated,

tia

I've been reading on the transfer of GM warranties. Since my car was bought used I can just show up, they punch in my VIN and all is good. I'll probably have to ddiscuss the 2 yrs 4 changes interval.

thanks zfat...I missed that sublink. What was "a few" is now up to 4 in a 2 year period and maybe like yours they will do them when I want.

What is your take on this scenario: I get a flat and my green goop flat kit doesn't work and I call them for towing to the nearest dealer. They tow the car at their expense under warranty. When they see I have changed the Trofeos to Bridgestones they deny the service tow coverage since they are not part of oem???

You are welcome, of course

My take is they pay for the tow (that's available regardless) no questions asked, however any flat repair stands on its own merits (or lack of).

5/30 Mobll 1 according to the filler cap.
But many people like running thicker oil and other brands for track duty.

Look on your build sheet that came with your car. Should be on it.

I think it depends on the dealer. When I bought my Spark I asked the service department, he said its 4 within 2 years, it does not matter when as far as they were concerned. I could come in once a month for 4 months in a row if I wanted to. I have 11,000 miles on mine in 7 months and they have changed the oil twice so far.

2014/2015 Z06 and Z51 get 5th free oil change because they have dry sump oil system. Why not the Z/28?

Was the Corvette oil change original schedule like ours is now?
Reading the corvette document tells me that they also updated the first oil change so that it needs done at 500 miles, not what was previously stated in the manual. Hence they will still do the 4 after that.
We have the break in period of 1500 miles which once reached signals the first oil change for us. My dealer seems to think that they will only do the oil change when it is called for, not when I want.
I'm thinking since they recommend going to a heavier weight oil for tracking that they should have to do it under schedule before I track the car for the first time in April.... I haven't reached 1500 miles yet, but am working on it.
She's been sitting waiting for decent weather/roads which just showed up......Just got back from some spirited driving. Can't wait to feel how well it will run when I can finally rev it properly.
