Hey guys need your opinion
First post have been creeping for a long time. Looking to buy a 1le and have found one that is relatively close. Have drove a ZL1 but don't want to throw down the big bucks. I think this might be a good option for me. He wants 43,900 but I think I've got him talked into 40. Do you think this is a good deal.... fair, good, or walk away?
Here's the car http://www.evolve-motors.com/2014_Ch..._226603709.veh Any feedback is very appreciated. Thank you! |

supercharged, which is nice, it voids the factory warranty. I would rather have a brand new one with no mileage around 38k and add my own supercharger. If you get it make sure you take it to a reliable shop to make sure compression ratios are okay.

You could get one new for that price or a bit more.
And whats with the "special order rims"? |

Because he's asking full retail on a used unit. The value of the car has gone down tremendously from it having one owner and is past the break in period so you don't know for sure if that was done correctly. That's the only reason I wouldn't do it. I would pay the same price for a new unit to be honest.

From their site:
"Full Chevrolet Factory Warranty" Absolutely 100% incorrect. You will have 0 warranty on the driveline with the addition of the supercharger. If you buyt a new one, which can be had for less you get a 5yr/100K drive line warranty and it will put close to 400whp down vs the 517whp claimed. Matt

if you want supercharge go with a zl1. ya its more but it has a warranty. the supercharger is like 7k new? added to a 40+ car. and you can bet its been raced or driven hard. good luck!

Ok, I understand the whole new car deal and appreciate your opinions. Thank you guys very much. Apparently the car was owned by an older gentleman that had to sell for heath reason. Which I did not ask any further. The charger was installed by Ty Mason who does all the work for Bergstrom??? in lower Michigan. Which they tell me is covered by warranty. Keep it coming no feelings hurt here. Thanks!

The 43,900 price they are asking is just about spot on what that cars msrp was brand new. Sounds like dude probably spent 10 grand on the supercharger and exhaust. I'm sure it's an awesome car but the chevy warranty is gone. I think SLP offers their own warranty but I believe that's if they do the install. Msrp on my 14 2SS/RS 1LE was 47,900, but with recaros, NPP, and NAV. The car u are looking at is definitely a 50k+ car with the extras but personally I would still buy a brand new one, but that's just me. I love my car and I also love knowing that I "built" it how I wanted it and ordered it. Good luck making a decision

Like others have stated, I would go new and do all the mods you feel comfortable with, this way you know exactly what happened with the car, and can make decisions about what will affect your warranty.
These 1LEs are utterly amazing cars in stock form! Can personally vouch for that... plus you would have fun doing the add-ons a bit at a time like the rest of us. Good luck man, keep us posted on what you decide! If you do go new, you absolutely must order at least the Recaros and the dual mode exhaust.

Some really good advice above. It's easy to get caught in the moment when hunting for a vehicle. As with others I'd walk away and keep looking. There are used units around at a fair price or if you're willing expand your search, look for a new left over and maybe get a pretty good deal.

Thank you all for all your help. Was planning on add a charger to the car, new or used, just thought it was a decent buy being included. Going to sleep on it give you an update in the morning. As you can tell sleep is not that easy tonight. Was planning on picking it up today, but I am currently tossing and turning. Thank you for all your input. Most receptive forum ever!

I got brand new '14 2SS/RSS 1LE with NPP, Nav, and Recaros for about $42K. Gotta love the warranty piece of mind, and knowing the car's history. If you want more power, pick up a gently used ZL1. The minute you do a major mod to a car, it can void the warranty and will lower the resale value.
