I took my old side stripes off completely using a 3M wheel. Just make sure it's a Stage 1 version, so it is as mild as possible. You do NOT want to stay in one spot with this. Keep moving it around as to not build up heat. You will likely still need to do some cleanup afterwards as it will leave what looks like pencil eraser shavings on your paint and maybe some smudging. After I used it on my stripes I clay barred and then polished the paint to get it as clean as possible.
