Is my car safe to drive?

In October my car was blowing oil out the exhaust, my car has been modified so i took it back to the dealership that i bought it from since it was still under warranty. It was determined that there was a hole in the block, so they did a Goodwill repair by buying me a new short block and they bolted all my mods back on the engine...They recommend me to take it to a shop to get it tuned. So since my brother lives close to the dealership i drove it to his house doing 50mph all the way..So my question is, I want to take it back to Shortuning in Bardstown to get it tuned, will it do any damage if i do 65mph on the interstate to bring it back home which is 45min away from my brother house without messing up my engine before i get it tuned

You really should not be driving the car period let alone trying to give it any kind of extra throttle on the highway. Get that thing looked at asap or you won't be so lucky with the repair next time.

One thing I've learned with modifying high horsepower cars is it doesn't take much to completely destroy it and one of the BIG ways of doing that is doing mods and not properly tuning for them.

Blowing oil out of the exhaust definitely sounds like big issues to me. If you don't know what to do, I'd say get it to a shop that does and have them look it over and then tune it.

Yeah, but what are the mods? It could be an intake and plug wires for all we know, unless you guys know something not in the first post.

I think I recall from his past that he has heads and cam with pulleys and more. It’s a build that was done wrong the first time around. He sent a rod through the block which I don’t know how you manage that on stock blower/no Nitrous.

OP I’d highly advise not driving it without a tune. Also please don’t let any dude with a laptop tune such a car. Get it to a professional.

*EDIT* looks like the OP bought it with Bolt on mods installed, was given a 2 year power train warranty to ease the conscious and had it tuned but wasn’t impressed with the numbers for a 10” pulley car and likely because the engine was going or the tune sucked. No offense but your ownership with this car has kind of been a train wreck. Don’t continue that by driving it untuned with a 10” lower pulley. My god.

Aha. That makes more sense. I missed that part.

To the OP: if that's the case, get that thing on a trailer. If it windowed the block the first time with those mods and the current tune, it will probably do it again, just a matter of time. Don't ruin or degrade your new short block in the meantime.

if you need to ask, you shouldn't have bought the car. you got a free engine block so tow that car to a tuner and let them figure it out. you aren't going to get a free engine next time from GM thats for damn sure.

I would not exceed 57mph and for no more than 33 1/2 minutes.
