Maybe if you keep yours long enough History will repeat itself. My dads 69 Z28 he said new was like $3200 and now he was just offered $36,000 & turned it down. Of course it's 69 that only has 56,000 miles on it. But still that's a very impressive price raise. Don't think the 2010 Camaro's will do this unless Chevy's financial problems get bad again & they have to discontinue the car. I hope that doesn't happen but do wish they would not over build them Like ford does with the mustange. Every were I turn mustanges. Right now my 2SS is the 3rd in my county. By end of week it be 5. But it's awesome feeling having a car you don't see everyday.

It will depreciate then eventually appreciate. Depends on a lot of things. Mileage, color, trim, condition, and etc.

In 20 years this car could be worth more than it is now, nobody knows. If people knew that they would be going to Vegas and Atlantic City more.

If GM does not make a 2011 Coupe that could also have a big effect in a postive way on the depreciation/appreciation.

Unlike the older "muscle" cars, it WILL NOT be worth more in 20 years. Cars today get BETTER with every year, hence current ones are not desired. If the ZR1 goes away, it will be worth money, otherwise the 1987 Buick GNX is the only "newer" car whose value will go up. As long as it stays around, a 2020 Camaro will be out of this world, as will the 2025 and 2030 models.

Thats one reason I bought the camaro last year when gas shot up to over $4.50 a gallon for 87 I decided to get rid of my H2! At only 10.2mpg and the 32 gallon tank I got tired of putting $125.00 every 320 miles which for me is about every 2/3 days. Heck last summer I probably spent enough on gas to pay for half of my Camaro. Even getting the 2SS it still gets great gas mileage. Or at least for me it does compared to what i was driving. Love my IOM 2SS getting about 22mpg thus far.

I was thinking just a little bit higher, around 29k-30k for a base 2SS. Hot cars normally go for 2-3k below invoice the next year but it depends on what the newest model is selling at. If dealers offer discounts on the '11 MY's and sell them below invoice then the price for the '10s will drop a few grand below that.

+1

actually, it's just about 20,000 in now-a-days dollars. With all the insurance and maintenence and all that added, I don't think there is much, if any, profit.

Yeah... just cause its a cool car, doesn't mean there's not a lot of dumb people doing whatever they can to own it. IMO, it'll will never be worth in 40 yrs what old camaros are worth now. But if you had 3 grand back in 68 and investigated in certain stocks, you'd have 10 times what a 68 camaro is worth now. But that has absolutely nothing to do with why I ordered a 2010. It was strictly for the love of the beast and the fact I can afford one.

There is a real good chance that the V8 version of this car will not be long lived. Whether that is 1 yr or 3 years isn't known yet but this could quite possibly be on of the last American factory muscle cars.

Maybe, just maybe some enterpreneurial dealer will be able to charge a $2500-5000 premium over NADA Bluebook prices.
