I want to burn rubber, but how?

I'm confused!

I want to burn rubber in my 2SS/RS with 6 speed, but the "programming" in the Camaro is mixing me up. I found "competitive mode" already, but what does it do exactly? I heard there is a mode that limits the RPM to about 4000 or so which is supposed to get you moving as fast as possible with the least amount of wheel spin. Is this "launch" mode? (Where is the kick-ass mode?)

Depends, you have an auto or a manual? Launch mode is only on the manual. As for burning rubber, if you have an auto I'd put the shifter to M (sports mode) drop it into 1st with the paddle shifters and have at it... if it still doesn't squeal, turn off traction control

After break-in right?

Since it's not solid axle it's engineered to grip. As well as the good tires.

I don't have money for new tires and like a smooth ride so I don't burn out like the old days. When I used to get new tires once a year or so.

Try little powerbrake if auto. Manual you need to dump it slow clutch out and high rpm.

1. Turn off traction control.
2. Rev to around 3500 RPM
3. Release clutch while flooring accelerator.
4. Watch white smoke emerge and black marks appear on pavement.
5. Proceed to tire dealer for $400+ each Perellis.

You are right. I was just teasing DIC (driver in Canada) a bit cos he had another thread about a 2010 Camaro recall but he didn't know what it is.

I apologize. :(

Ok, can I get soup now?

IN the six speed turn the traction control and stabili track off. You have to push the T/C button and hold it till two lights light up on the dash. Takes about 5 seconds on my car. After that the computer won't limit your tire spin. Rev that sucker up and pop the clutch..............intanst satisfaction.

You'll see the yellow traction control light AND the yellow ABS light come on.

I know,

Back On Topic,

When we went to do Stephanies hair, Scott had me take my car out and hold the break slightly and 'roast em'
I was surprised how easy it was to do. VERY easy. He loved it, I saw dollar signs floating up and away.
