When I am in traffic I see ~16. But when traffic is light and I have to stop at a few signals I can get 'er down to 8.

Makes me proud.

Are you checking mileage on your car or calculating old way?

The idea of driving from the pump 50 miles and back can be done only at midnight and a specific road which full of bumps.

Checking it on the car, average fuel consumption and also calculated how many miles a full tank will get me.

So reset my 'Average Fuel Economy' and drove it while monitoring it. After a short drive i was getting 14.4 l/100km then stopped at traffic idle for around 7 minutes it got all the way up to 25 l/100km.
So i guess my issue is idling and city drive.

Question: is there a way to improve idling fuel consumption by HPtuners? More or less timing?

An ideal mileage cruising at those speeds would be an easy 21-22. I can’t help you with stop and go, but 11 does seem low for me. However, stop and go means you have to get this heavy pig moving again and again. I guess I could see it in those conditions. Try and fill it up, drive 50 miles in one direction from the gas pump you used and 50 miles back to the same one. Caculate your gallons added and divide by miles given and see what you get. If you’re at 20-23 I’d say you’re ok.
24mpg is what i'm getting also on the highway at 75 to 76 mph consistently.

I do have to say though, and I read it on this forum, if you are worried about fuel mileage, don't buy a Camaro SS. Get the 6 banger and you will be alright! lol..

Yeah, the 6.2L will push ~0.5 Gal/Hour at idle. That's just physics. So much air = so much fuel. I'm sure if Chevy could extract any more efficiency out of it they would have.

Is it really that much?

Yes. I am not the only one who has done the math and compared them to real world results.

Not doubting you. Just hadn’t ever taken that measurement into consideration.

A friend reminded me of an important fact when I first bought mine....

"Ya didn't buy it for good gas mileage."
