ZL1 Fuel Pump Help

Ok I have supercharged my Camaro and of course I am now dropping fuel pressure, so I was looking to go to the ZL1 pump. Here is my question do you need the Fuel Pump Control Module? I have been told no I dont need it the one in the SS is identical so it will work as advertised, but then a few other people have said you do need it? Any help here would be appreciated.

You need the ADM FPCM with the ZL-1 pump for it to work right. Also need to raise the FP setpoint in the tune to account for boost.

Andy modifies the FP module to work on the non zl-1 programming.

I installed a ZL1 fuel pump and not the FPCM and mine works just fine on 6# boost. 546/rwhp and 522/wrtq. That is enough for the street IMO.

Just remember if it don't work you're out that money. I spent close to 500 on the setup and it don't work. I'm fixing to get this pump, Tired of trying to get the ZL1 to work. Some tell me to just add a BAP, For the cost of the ZL1 pump, FPCM, BAP you can buy a dual pump.

Here's a drop in pump they says good to 800hp

If you're running a centri and/or meth, it's possible. If you're doing street only driving with a PD and avoiding redline pulls then you're probably correct but I have to ask the question, how many people go to the trouble and cost of making 546 rwhp and totally avoid WOT pulls?

Why are people having problems with the zl1 pump and adm fpcm dropping pressure? Zl1s have made over 725rwhp isnt the zl1 pump with the adm fpcm the same thing as a stock zl1 system or am i missing something? I bought the zl1 pump and adm fpcm and its gonna suck if it isnt enough for my combo in sig.

The combo you have.....ZL1, ADM FPCM, ID850 injectors, will do the job for you. The only other thing you need is to have the necessary ECM changes supplied by Andy to be inputted to your tune.

Our ZL1/ADM PROGRAMMED FPCM combo is rated at 700-725hp(600-625 rwhp) at $452.00

We also have fuel systems rated at 750+hp(700-725 rwhp) at $1395.00

as well as Fuel systems good for 1500+hp(1000-1200 rwhp) at $2300.00

With this being said we have seen higher numbers with each system, but your on your own if you attempt to go over what we recommend.

An SS fuel system has a pressure setpoint of 58 psi. A ZL-1 fuel system is stepped twice to a higher pressure. i don't have a ZL-1 tune in front of me but the highest pressure is around 66 psi to overcome the boost.

Andy's tune recommendation is a bit higher than the ZL-1 so with the ADM module and ECU programming, it exceeds a stock ZL-1 fuel system. More pressure = more flow thru the same injector.

As you run higher boost it becomes necessary to raise the pressure accordingly to compensate for the boost. This will maintain the proper differential pressure across the injectors.

As an example, 58 psi at the injector tips needs 66 psi in the rail at 8 lbs boost.

No he doesn't NEED it. Is it a good recommendation? Sure. ZL1 Pump and BAP will work just fine, I have been running 13psi for a while with no issues and sure as shit dont have ID850's to boot.

^^ Exactly. I run my ZL1 pump with a BAP because of what I wanted to push.....but worked just fine with and without.

I just got the car running and am working on the tune, but I am seeing 70psi at the rail at idle with it climbing as the boost goes up. Have not done any full boost runs yet but looking promising. 65 lib injectors with ZL1 pump and ADM FPCM.
