RWHP to run 11.90's.....

For you guys who have or are running 11.90's w/o FI or Turbo - generally how much LS3 RWHP did it take to dip below 12.00?

Can 11.90's be achieved with just Headers/CAI/Tune & rear tires (along w/excellent launch, shifting, etc)?

It has been done but you also have to consider elevation, humidity, temperature, etc

I have a cam in mine making 480 rwhp and im running mid 11s trap speed.. 122mph but i cant get off the line... consistent 2.1 and 2.2 60s running 12.0 flat...

Elevation kills my life.....

Went to the track yesterday and ran a best time of 12.8 @ 113mph. about 6K elevation. DA of 7,600... Car has 608rwhp (supercharged).

Must be nice to be at sea level

This should show you what's needed (mod wise) along with excellent driving and good track conditions.
BUT - most cars will need a cam + bolt ons to get down in the 11s.

These are all bolt ons only cars. So with the right combination (wheels/tires/bolt ons), it can be done with 415 rwhp or so (LS3 M6)

Bolt-Ons without Internal Engine Modification (e.g. modified airpath, headers, PCM-tune, aftermarket clutch, non-stock rear gears, skinny front tires)

Bolt on cars with the with lighter smaller wheels and drag radials will have 11s with the right conditions. Add a cam and use some drag radials on the 20s will do it too. I would say the min would be 415-420 with drag wheels, 430-440 on the 20s all with a good driver, good air.

11.9 is my goal with my bolt ons only convertible. If a heavy ass convertible can do it anyone can!
My best so far is 12.3 @ 112.9 mph. Corrected for DA +1429 it's about 12.161 @ 114.51 mph.

Even for crazy elevation, that still sounds too low.
Elevation and 22" pirelli's sucks....
best 60' was 2.33
