Mustang Rental

Hi gang.

On a little vaca in Ft Lauderdale and rented a V6 Mustang convertible for a couple of days. Not a bad car, drove pretty tight. Can really feel the sedan like seating position :/
It had only 14k on it so maybe it was abused, but the motor sounded awful. Not a bad experience but...
I MISS MY CAMARO!

It sounds aweful in what way? My daughter has a V6 Mustang. I think it sounds fine for what it is.

The engine is noisy. Not the exhaust but the mechanical sounds it makes. More like the Ford 1.6 litre tractor motor. I'm not a Ford hater...had a lot of them over the years. Mustangs T-Birds etc. so I'm not going there. Not comparing V6 to V8 either.
Just like my Camaro better.

Just curious what you were hearing. My daughter's car is very quite. Who knows what you'll hear with a rental?

I came from a 14' GT and the ZL1 is in a whole different league. I loved my GT and it was a ton of fun to own and drive, but the way the Camaro handles compared to the Mustang its not even close. The Mustang is a great car for the money though, I would for sure own one again.

Former 08 Pony Pkg Mustang Owner

I had to have a mustang ever since it was redesigned for 2005. In 2009 when Camaros re emerged, I wasn't impressed (hated the stupid back window, tapered too narrow). Loved my Mustang until I was in a parking lot & saw a white Camaro with convertible black roof. I was smitten. 3 weeks later I traded the stang in for my 2013 Camaro Vert. The quality is obviously better in the Camaro. An example: the console surface was peeling and my car was babied.

Funny how every story is different. I hated the interior in my Camaro. My kid had a Nissan Versa that had more expensive looking cheap plastic. My S550s interior was light years better IMO. With mass produced cars like Camaros and mustangs. Quality is all over the map.

its probably not only that but preconceived notions of one brands quality over another,(i.e. a longtime GM fan might prefer the camaro over the mustang)i owned fords and so did my mom and dad...never thought i would enjoy a camaro so much.

We just traded off our versa for a cruze and I'd have to disagree. The plastic in it looked way cheaper than my camaro. Not even close.
