Just in case you were wondering where the GT info is...
Ford decided to pull the GT from the show at the last minute. Figured that the 2010 sales would take when the public sees the difference between the 2010 and the 2011. They decided to unveil the V6 anyway because sales of the 2010 wouldn't really be affected by the announcement since the performance crowd goes for the GT. That being said, many aftermarket companies have already seen the 5.0's output so they can begin designing aftermarket parts. The consensus so far is that the GT is rated at 425 hp and torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or auto tranny. |

That's only because they still have a bad taste in their mouths from Ford's first epic fail attempt at IRS in the Cobras.

v6 mustangs make up over 80% of all mustangs sold.
rear end looks like the ugly 80's stangs, and the cheap sequential lights are not smooth at all. v6's used to come with black plastic at the bottom, now all of them do........ |

The only failure in their IRS attempt is that that in the GT500 the UCA is only 25% more stiffer than a V6 mustangs . So, if the GT500 made 265hp it would all be good. But, the people at SVT were never good at math so yea. But, they are good at cutting corners lol. Also they didn't paint the rear end causing it to rust, although it doesn't effect the structural integrity of it, It still looks nasty.

According to some other people I have heard speak on this board you will lose. All it takes for a new mustang to run with a new SS is a CAI and a tune. He has an x-pipe also. Hes got an edge on you.
In all seriousness I would say you still have a decent advantage. But not enough of an advantage that you can mess up your driving (which would be like any race unless you are racing 15 second cars) |
