But I have just never been impressed with the NA performance of the ohc ford motors. Not to mention the ease of a cam swap. THe simplicity of the motor, the smaller size of the motor....the list goes on and on.

This is very true, and the one thing I don't like about the mustang, it is a small motor, that doesn't respond as well to bolt-ons as the gm motors do except if there is a tune, which more or less makes up the difference between the two for the mustang (proportionally, not actually). If it was up to me, I would get a mustang with an ls3, still with a live axle tho.

The positive for ford however, is that they have always done more with less, and the fact that the 2010 mustang with only 315 hp and 325 lb ft of torque can keep up with the camaro (on average times, it does, I don't need any magazine comparo's) is a testament to that, which is makes me wonder what the deal is with the 5.0. For once, its more powerful (more or less), but I think it will personally weigh more then the current 2010's, and not be as effective in putting the power to the ground. Ford's talent has always been doing more with less, so I am skeptical to the new decisions, as if they are geared only to the commercials so they can say they have more power and more mpgs.

That's a great question. I know in my CTS i could never kidnap anyone and throw them in the trunk because my inside trunk release glows in the dark.

I'm just kidding. Seriously.

This was my reason for buying one, and it did'nt have a damn thing to do with fanboy-ism or price, it only had to do with how bad ass it look's. Granted this is'nt stock, and if stock was my only option, I would'nt own it either.

Or perhaps....(ghasp) they like the Mustang better ? Eegads !

The same reason people will buy a Camaro, they will buy a Challenger or Mustang. It's just simple as that.

There is no such thing. people can only like the camaro. if they can't afford one they buy the inferior mustang.

Junkie I am not saying the Camero cannot run these times. I have a very good friend with one and he averages 12.4 in his. Now is it BONE STOCK ? No. Does it has more than a CIA ? Yes. The thing about this time was that

A. The car has just came out and these mods were still fairly new.
B. As I remember there was NO TUNE. It was "stick a CIA on it, and he goes 12.6"
C. Hell a 2010 GT went 12.8 but the minute it was mention that he ran without the spare tire and the front sway bar, and a x pipe ZOMG !! He has super mods !

The point is that the driver is the biggest mod. I know the Camaro is more than capable running these times. I just do, and still question that particular time. Camaro's running these great imes now is not far fetched. But as others have said, 12's are not the AVERAGE times.

- Is the GT gonna be nearly as comfortable as the SS? Most likely not. C'mon, it's a Ford.
- Design? Not even close. We saw their 2010 GT's.
- Are you gonna see 2011 Mustang's at every single stop light? Most likely.
- Are you gonna be able to escape from your own trunk on a 2011 Mustang? No.

What else?

I'm sorry, but I can't stand Mustangs.
