All Chevy SS come with the LS3.
One more example of how Chevy gave the auto Camaro SS the shaft. There is absolutely NO reason the Camaro didn’t come with the LS3 regardless of transmission like the Corvette and the SS sedan that the idiots couldn’t come up with a name for.

The LS3 offered in the Corvette and SS automagics included a $1200US gas guzzler tax, IIRC.
That's why Chevy produced the L99 for auto Camaros. So they didn't have a guzzler tax.

So your dear old dad paid the guzzler tax so he could kick your ass.
My hat is off to him.

If you wanted fuel economy, then buy the V-6. I’d pay the $1200 if that’s what it turned out to be. Poor decision by GM to do the L99 with the garbage DOD that has a terrible history, but they can’t help themselves. The new Silverado can deactivate 1 to 7 cylinders at a time. I’m sure that will work flawlessly for the next 10 years.

With your 3.27 gear you're already at a disadvantage compared to his 3.73. Also, as much faith as everyone has in Dyno Steve and his mail order tunes, you really can't beat a good dyno + street tune. He shouldn't be killing you, especially with your mods vs his. However, you probably shouldn't be destroy him either.

The rear gear is the same in the A6, only the M6 has 3:73

Some A6 have 3.45 I think. I put the 3.91 kit in and it's a completely different car now.

The SS is nothing to mess with. I've seen a couple run some impressive times locally. It's sort like the Charger vs Challenger in a way. Many times the charge will out run the Challenger. Ive seen it. I know the SS and Camaro are two completely different platforms unlike the fiats though.

My guess is because Camaro sells in higher volumes.
