methanol injection

can someone help explain how these systems work?
http://www.alcoholinjectionsystems.c...FcEUKgoduROB_Q

do they work more like nitrous, or are they always active?

Pretty sure there different setups?

The ones I've seen work on WOT when your boost kicks in.

Methanol injection is to cool the Intake Air Charge and adds a slight amount more fuel (but not alot as methanol is a 3:1 ratio compared to gasoline).

Nitrous is a oxygenator power adder that allows for more fuel to be introduced to the combustion mixture thus more power released per explosive event.

Both are controlled activation where meth inj is usually boost referanced Nitrous is wide open throttle & rpm based.

Well down here where our gas is 91 at best (probably an 89 in the US) we use 50% seco (a liquor you drink) and 50% pure alcohol 98% concentrate. Bumps the octane up to about 106~ we calculate.

Works wonders on all FI v8s here.

do you keep that mix in a different tank and inject it in when under heavy boost, or just straight in the tank?

It's a seperate tank in the trunk.

Looks like this

AT WOT it injects the mixture and ups the octane level thus letting you boost safely.

There are different size tanks of course. Also depends how you drive.

Good thing about vortechs and such are they require high rpm to enter boost, unlike maggie, so you can DD it out of boost regularly and easily.

I am running this kit from Snow in my Camaro and Silverado.

http://www.snowperformance.net/product.php?pk=75

They make a great product. Next month I will have a full editorial on the Snow installation on the Camaro.

I have a snow kit and a blower. Stage 2 or 3 I don't remember, but I set it on injector impulse. That is the best way to set the system !! deno---

Systems can be triggered in a few different ways. Our boost activated systems let you adjust the activation point as to when you want it to come on. Systems can also be activated and controlled by he out put signal on your MAF. Additionally, guys can use a WOT switch.

The systems are not always active and only spray when the users defines them too. Hoe this answers your question. Let me know if you have any other questions or how i can help.

Noss is different, if you have watched Fast and Furious then you know when you hit that button you go to 300MPH then drop down to 100MPH after a few sec
