tachometer stucking
When I turn the car on and as the needle in the tach is going back down, if I rev the car it get's stuck around 4k...
Has anyone had this problem? any fix? I only have one dealer near me, and I don't get off work until they are past closed. |

I had something similar. I would be going 55-60mph and my tach would be on zero. Take it in, its a known problem and your dealer should order a whole new gauge assembly for your camaro.

Let us know how it goes with your dealer. Hopefully it's not too much of a pain for you to bring it in.

Sounds like the stepper motor is going bad.
A part like that should be under warranty and the dealer should replace the entire unit.

Definitely Stepper motor..my Denali did the same thing. First MPH gauge then Tach guage and the rest will follow eventually. It was a 30 dollar fix and 1 hour repair (did myself) the dealer wanted 500 dollars to fix it and it was a known problem under recall. But because I had more than 75,000 miles they would not fix it,
and I got pulled over for speeding with the broken gauge but she let me go with a warning when I showed her the gauge was broken. |
