This is the same as billet gear for the last two cars I had. Appearance gear is more expensive than performance gear. Guess I will just be waiting a year or looking to find an alternate manufacturer.

I thought they would replace the whole bowtie, not just the center. I want to lose the border around it too.

Bowties and Pricing
Thanks for posting everyone and for the feedback! All DefenderWorx parts are manufactured from the finest 6061 aircraft grade aluminum billet. The bowties are machined, then sent to get bent, then machined again, then sent out to be polished, powder coated or plated. Backed by a 4 year warranty. These pieces are all GM Official Licensed, meaning that out of all the manufacturers that attempted these pieces, ours was the best product. You might find over time that the decals and such will fade or start peeling off. Take a look at www.defenderworx.com to see the gallery and all of our Camaro's we have suited up.

I'd consider it in a Brushed Nickel look. I'm not interested in black or shiney chrome.
I have to say, I'm VERY glad they only replaced the gold part and left the chrome surround. Having that surround gives the bowtie a much more interesting appearance than a plain flat bowtie.

Many other companies make Camaro inserts for the 93-02 cars just like I do. These companies are also GM licensed. I'm not trying to start anything, but you are trying to tell the public that other companies tried to make these pieces and failed at licensing while GM only licensed yours. If any other company did supply a prototype, and it was a quality piece that fit, they would license them as well. I make many items nobody else does, but it's probably due to the fact nobody else has bothered to submit the part for approval - not that mine was the only good one ever made. |
