Don't worry about slowing anyone down. It's just having a good time. This will be my second time on the track so I'm still a rookie.

Last time I went, a couple people had DOT approved helmets but I think they prefer one meant for cars like SA2010 rated. Check their website and see if it's posted on there.

I recommend you look at the differences for yourself to understand why you want a helmet made for auto sports. While the helmets are both meant to protect you from injury, they do it in different ways.
Take safety seriously and you'll have way more fun! (And I know you are, because you are asking.  )Can't wait! It'll be great to meet everyone and run with you all!

this will be my 1st track event with more than one other Camaro in a run group. should be a lot of fun. Met Aimless @ VIR this week. If you want to see how your car goes up against Mustangs, there is a Hooked on Driving event @ Roebling Road outside Savannah GA Oct 10. It is a Mustang 50th year convention, and they have asked HOD to help with the track event
