The shop just called and told me the engine was 4 quarts too low on oil (my fault, I checked it when I first had problems a month ago but not since), and that all cylinders are running low on compression, indicating most likely issues with the bearings and such. He said that it would be cheaper to replace the engine rather than pay to tear it apart. So now my question is, where can I find a Reman or used LLT?
All I can think of at the moment is craigslist, which doesn't have anything atm, and new crate engines from Chevy, but I really don't have 7k to blow right now

There are a lot of sources for reman engines.
Try your local parts store, or search Jasper engines etc.
Also a low mileage salvage yard engine might work for you.

My camaro has been acting weird too...I think there is definitely a problem with our engines. Ive read wayyyyy too many threads on the what sounds to be the same problems. That is why I am looking to upgrade.

I think we would win if we actually did put together a class action suit.

well i for one would be happy if chevy swaps my engine for free rather than me having to do it and bite the costs
